Our Story
How We Started
Founded in 2024, Sudo Choir is a vibrant, mixed-voice Chinese ensemble based in the South Bay. Its members are drawn from various professions across the San Francisco Bay Area, united by a solid musical foundation and a shared passion for choral art. Driven by a vision to explore diverse musical cultures and dissolve artistic boundaries, the choir has established a dynamic presence since its inception. The ensemble presents two to three concerts annually and frequently collaborates with outstanding local artists and organizations, consistently channeling fresh musical inspiration. Characterized by its refined tone and exceptional linguistic flexibility, Sudo's versatile repertoire seamlessly bridges classical masterworks, traditional folk, contemporary compositions, and pop arrangements.
Today, the Sudo Choir has expanded into two distinct performing ensembles: the Sudo Mixed Choir and the Sudo Women's Choir. In tandem with these performance groups, the organization hosts the annual Sudo Choral Training Camp. Focusing on core musicianship, vocal fundamentals, and sight-singing skills, this workshop is designed for aspiring singers of all levels, aiming to promote choral culture and nurture emerging choral talent.
